“If everything around you seems dark, look again. You may be the light.”

—Rumi

I’m Dr. Sarah McNair, an integrative psychiatrist who puts the focus back where it belongs—on the individual.

Too often, modern medicine asks you to adapt to a one-size fits all framework. I’m here to help create an approach to treatment that is as unique as you are, one that blends the science of medicine with the art of healing, while honoring the power of intuition, spirit and human connection.

I’m a graduate of West Point, Harvard Medical School, and psychiatric residency at Walter Reed, and I’ve pursued training in a wide range of integrative treatments. I’m particularly interested in mood disorders, trauma, sleep, burnout, lifestyle change, and self-actualization, and I love working with adults who are highly motivated to explore themselves . I currently see patients located in Georgia, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Vermont through virtual appointments.

If you already know, my role is to help you get there.

If you aren’t sure, my role is to help you figure it out.

Our end state is not a pill or a diagnostic code—it’s helping you reach your unique goals, things like:

  • Improving symptoms of anxiety or depression so you can feel like yourself again

  • Exploring your past so you don’t have to live in it anymore

  • Using introspection to create more meaning and satisfaction in your life

  • Optimizing your diet and lifestyle to feel physically and mentally better than ever

  • Learning mindfulness and meditation techniques to tune in to your body and mind

  • Evaluating your psychiatric medications to find the optimal benefit with minimal side effects

  • Using functional medicine labs or supplements to support a holistic approach to your health

I use a full range of tools, including prescription medications, conventional and functional lab, individual and group psychotherapy, mind-body techniques, supplements and herbals to help you reach your goals.

What does wellness mean to you?
